Chelsea can forget about the idea of bringing former Barcelona boss Luis Enrique to Stamford Bridge, as reports have claimed Max Allegri has ‘agreed’ to replace the Italian this summer.

Enrique is currently taking some time off after leaving Barcelona and has been heavily tipped to make the move to London, as he was seemingly Roman Abramovic’s number one transfer target.

But despite weeks of talks, Enrique refused to give them any cast-iron commitment and the Blues reportedly decided to switch attentions to Allegri.

They have been impressed by the Italians tactical ability aswell as his management skills, as he seems to keep the Juventus players very happy whether they win or lose.

And the Daily Star website has claimed Allegri is now “nailed on” to join Chelsea in the summer.

A football insider told Starsport that: “Allegri was the candidate before Conte.”

Abramovic has overseen eleven managers since he brought Chelsea back in 2003, but that has not stopped the clubs success as he has also seen fourteen trophies arrive, with the Champions League being one of them.

So if Allegri is the man to replace Conte, he may aswell not get too comfy as the Russian billionaire will not take too kindly to Chelsea not competing for every single trophy on offer.

Conte knew this before he joined Chelsea and decided to leave his family back in Italy, where he will be heading when he officially leaves Stamford Bridge.
