‘NEXT DROGBA’, ‘HAZARD REPLACEMENT’ – CHELSEA FANS ARE FULL OF PRAISE FOR YOUNG GOAL SCORING MACHINE

Saturday, 7 April 2018

Whilst many were keeping their eyes firmly focused on the Champions League last night, the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern had other priorities – the FA Youth Cup.

The Blues have an incredible recent history in the competition, and they’re now just one game away from potentially reaching a remarkable 7th straight final.

Centred around the under-18 age group, Chelsea always prioritises the competition, and that has been reflected by their sensational recent form.

That form continued on Wednesday night, with Chelsea beating their opponents Birmingham 3-0 in the first leg of the 2018 Youth Cup semi-final. On the scoresheet, as he often has been this season, was young Callum Hudson-Odoi.

The 17-year-old has been involved in the first team on occasion this season, and it’s fair to say that he has a very bright future ahead of him.

His incredible performance didn’t go unnoticed amongst fans, with Chelsea supporters over on Twitter hailing the Englishman for his stellar display.

With fans describing him as Chelsea’s future, including references to both Eden Hazard and Didier Drogba, the attacker certainly has a lot to live up to.

Take a look at what they’ve had to say below…

Boyd-Munce prevents a certain fourth goal for the visitors as he somehow clears behind from under his own crossbar after Hudson-Odoi put a low ball in from the left.

Birmingham 0-2 ! There's the goal for Hudson-Odoi, his sixth in the competition this season. The Blues exploit a loose pass out from the keeper and work it to the forward on the left, who slots his finish in nicely. pic.twitter.com/NpMyHBmb0g

Callum Hudson-Odoi, our top scorer in the Youth Cup this term, goes for goal from distance but his right-footed effort flies comfortably off-target.

I want to see Hudson odoi play more regularly now

Clearly, Chelsea fans have big hopes for the attacker. Bringing incredible flair, pace, technique and goalscoring, the Englishman is only getting better at the moment.
