The goalkeeper is set for a salary increase that’ll more than double his current salary, and also make him the first Chelsea player to earn more than £200,000 a week.

Courtois has been linked with a move to Real Madrid for a number of seasons after they watched him impress on loan at their neighbors Atletico Madrid, even as they look to replace Keylor Navas.
Los Blancos must have been excited when reports suggested that Courtois along with his teammate Eden Hazard were both interested in a move to the Spanish capital.
However, the Belgian shot stopper has indicated that he is now prepared to stay at the club and will soon become their best paid player, also becoming the highest paid keeper in the world.
He had earlier urged his teammate Hazard to commit his future to the club and reject Madrid’s advances, he now seems to be taking the bold step first.
“It has just turned the new year, so we will wait a few weeks and then sit around the table” he said
“I’m happy at Chelsea and a deal is close.
“Do Eden and I encourage each other? Yes. He will say ‘if you sign, I will sign’ and I say the same to him.”
He will be expected to lose the highest paid player spot if Eden Hazard signs a new deal, with the winger expected to earn way more than Courtois.
