The Blues have been in the hunt for a backup for Marcos Alonso, with Alex Sandro initially the priority target being linked with the club, then later Alex Telles and recently Emerson Palmeri. They seem to have had more success this time with Palmeri claiming the Blues have reached an agreement with Roma

“Chelsea and Roma have reached an agreement on principles on Emerson Palmieri,” he tweeted. He also hinted at a deal for another Emerson’s teammate Edin Dzeko also targeted by Chelsea. “Now up to seal the whole deal including Dzeko.”

“Chelsea-Dzeko: precious joke from [Francesco] Totti, who stepping on the train to Milano on which Roma was travelling, walked across Dzeko and asked him “Is this train going to London?

“Dzeko replied with a smile.” Palmeri tweeted

Chelsea are believed to be looking to acquire the services of the two players for a combined £44 million, now whether AS Roma will agree to such a deal for two of their key players will be seen in the next couple of days.
