Recently reports had suggested that Chelsea are planning a rather shocking bid for West Ham United striker Andy Caroll.

At first, the report looked a perfect example of a transfer window rumour but now it seems that Chelsea are indeed serious about signing the former Liverpool man.
When the report was first published, bookies Ladbrokes had priced the deal at 2/1 – pigeonholing the deal to be very unlikely.
But today all of a sudden Ladbrokes has slashed to odds to just 4/5 meaning the transfer could very well take place in the coming weeks.
Ladbrokes spokesman Alex Apati said(as quoted by the Express): “Plenty of eyebrows will be raised at this one, but Carroll to Chelsea is proving a popular bet with punters, so we’ve been left with no option but to slash odds of exactly that happening.”
It seems that Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has finally settled in on a partner/backup to his first choice striker Alvaro Morata. This invariably means that Michy Batshuayi’s time at Chelsea could be cut short and the Belgian International might possibly be on his way out of Stamford Bridge in a loan deal for the rest of the season.
