Super star dropped massive hint over his Chelsea future

Friday, 17 August 2018

Mateo Kovacic could make his Chelsea debut against Arsenal next weekend after finalising a loan move from Real Madrid.

Having made it clear he wanted to leave Santiago Bernabeu ahead of the new campaign, the Croatian midfielder finally got his wish as he headed to the British capital.

Signed from Inter Milan back in 2015, the 24-year-old has struggled to nail down a regular place in the Spanish giants’ team given he is competing against the likes of Toni Kroos, Casemiro and international teammate Luka Modric for a place in the starting eleven.

Although there is no choice in his loan deal to make a move permanent, the highly-rated player seems to have made it clear on Twitter that he won’t be returning to the Spanish capital.

“After three years filled with trophies I have decided to move on,” he wrote.

“Even though are paths now separate I want to say big thank you to @realmadrid family and all the fans for an amazing part of my life I will never forget. #HalaMadrid.”

While the Croatian’s loan deal is only for the season, his message does sound very much like he will not be making a return to the Champions League holders next July.
