The Blues went through a torrid season last campaign under Conte a season after he guarded the Premier League club to the Premier League title. Chelsea ended the season out of the top four (5th) on the EPL table and in light of this, they would not be participating in the upcoming UEFA Champions League.

Although, the Italian gaffer managed to win the FA Cup title against Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United but this wasn’t enough to please Blues owner Roman Abramovich to have him at the rein of the club for one more season.

Now under Sarri, the Italian gaffer guarded his former side – Napoli – to a third place finish in the Serie A table with 86 points – five points adrift league winner Juventus – and would be hoping to guard his new side to a successful finish this coming season.

Majority of Chelsea’s woe last season was due to inconsistency from certain players in likes of Alvaro Morata, Tiemoue Bakayoko, coupled with series of poor performances in defence.

In correcting this, Sarri have only secured the signing of Jorginho from Napoli which many believed will challenged Bakayoko and Cesc Fabregas or rather much serve as the duo replacement next season. Chelsea, today, have also signed Robert Green on a free transfer after being released by Huddersfield, where he did not make a first-team appearance last season.

Green, as reported by BBC via Football News, registered a total of 650 games for Norwich, West Ham, QPR and Leeds and has 12 England caps. It’s believed the 38-year-old goalkeeper will serve as back-up to Thibaut Courtois and Willy Caballero at Stamford Bridge.

Graves in his report, said:
“Another player we think Sarri and Chelsea want to bring in is CSKA Moscow midfielder Aleksandr Golovin.”
In signing the CSKA Moscow midfielder, the Blues have now till 14 days to complete his signing before the transfer window get shut.
