Deal On: Mourinho Wants £52.6m Star At Old Trafford – Ed Woodward To Sanction Deal

Manchester United are said to be preparing a bid for Algeria left back Faouzi Ghoulam in summer transfer window.

According to the Sun, the Red Devils are prepared to sanction Ghoulam’s £52.6million release clause to bring him to Old Trafford.


Jose wants to strengthen his left-back position and had been link with several players the winter transfers.

Earlier report had it that the Portuguese tactician was keen on bringing Tottenham’s Danny Rose but it all seems he has cooled off interest in the English star.

Make-shift England winger Ashley Young has occupied the left-back spot all season, with Luke Shaw servicing as a back-up to him.

Mourinho is not a fan of Shaw and therefore do not see him as a viable long term successor to Young.

Although the later has be great in the absence of Young, but the 55-year old manager is still not pleased with his performances and wants to sign a long term left footed successor.

Ghoulam joined Napoli from Ligue One side St-Etienne in 2014 and had gone on to becoming a key player for the Serie A club.

The 26-year old African star signed a new deal with Napoli over the summer with a £52.6million release clause inserted in his new deal.

The talented star is currently on the sideline due to injury he suffered against Manchester City in the Champions League, but he is expected back to full fitness next month.
