Better Than Golovin? Chelsea Agree Deal For Versatile £22m Attacking Midfielder

The clock is ticking towards the close of the transfer window in the Premier league but Chelsea have not signed any player other then Jorginho. Part of the Blues’ undoing last season was the lack of options/quality players in Conte’s squad and this is one thing Sarri must correct in order to be competitive.

Sarri is looking to sign creative players so as to impose and execute his “entertaining’ style in the Premier league. Chelsea were heavily linked with a move to Golovin but the Russia star opted to join Monaco, leaving the Blues with no choice than to sort for a player in his stead elsewhere.

And now according to the Metro who cited a report by GloboEsporte, Chelsea have identified Brazilian attacking midfielder Bernard as the perfect player to replace Golovin and they are on the verge of sealing long term deal for the star.

Bernard joined Shahktar Donetsk in the summer of 2013 in a £22m deal but he knocked back contract extension offers from the side and he’s currently a free agent. He has had offered from a chunk of clubs including West Ham, Leicester City, Wolfsburg and Palmeiras but Chelsea are in pole position to seal a deal for the 25-year-old star.

Bernard has rejected offers from other sides lurking around to sign him to agree a deal with Chelsea. He will join as a free agent, where he is expect to provide an option in the attack of Sarri.
