Roman Abramovich wants Mauricio Pochettino to replace Antonio Conte as Chelsea manager, according to the Metro. Conte’s future at Stamford Bridge remains unknown and beating Manchester United in the FA Cup final may not be enough to spare him from being sacked. The 48-year-old has followed up his title-winning season with a miserable second campaign in which the Blues finished outside of the Champions League places.

The Italian has also fallen out with the club’s hierarchy on several occasions over the club’s transfer policy, as well as the handling of players within the squad. The Sun is reporting that Abramovich has already identified Pochettino future manager and the Spurs boss is aware of the interest.

Mauricio Pochettino is also set for negotiations with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy over the club’s direction this summer. The young manager is known to be willing to let Mousa Dembele, Danny Rose and Toby Alderweireld leave and wants to improve his squad with a £150 million transfer budget. He also requires his key players, namely Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen, to be offered new contracts.
