Deal Close: Chelsea set to finally land one of the most decorated managers

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly pulled out of discussions with Luis Enrique as the out-of-work head coach is close to reaching an agreement with Chelsea.

The West Londoners are expected to part company with Antonio Conte in the summer after an underwhelming second season at Stamford Bridge for the Italian.

Enrique has developed as the stories frontrunner to replaced Conte ahead of next campaign and, according to French outlet Le Parisien, they are close to signing their number one target.

That spells bad headlines for PSG, who were themselves believed to have seen the ex-Roma and Barcelona boss as an ideal replacement to Unai Emery.

The same story indicates that both sides also have identical back-up options, with Carlo Ancelotti head coach of PSG and Chelsea in the past and Napoli’s Maurizio Sarri highly thought of.

Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly lining up a £40m approach for long-term target Wilfried Zaha this summer.

The Crystal Palace winger is understood to have been on Mauricio Pochettino’s wishlist for at least the past three transfer windows, with Spurs seeing bids of £12m and £21m rejected in the summer of 2016.

The Daily Mail reports that Tottenham are now ready to significantly increase their valuation of the 25-year-old, although Palace are understood to rate him even higher than the £40m Spurs are willing to offer.

The Eagles have lost every single league game in which Zaha has not played this season, but climbed back out of the relegation zone upon his return from injury at the weekend courtesy of a 2-0 win over Huddersfield Town.

The Ivory Coast international is expected to leave Palace even if they do avoid the drop, but his contract does not expire until 2022 so Palace are likely to command a hefty fee for his services.

Spurs are still understood to be leading the race for his signature, although they could face competition from London rivals Chelsea.
