'Make him the club captain','Sell Cahill and give him the armband'- Chelsea fans desperate for this player to be named the team's new skipper

All is not well at Chelsea.

Indeed, Monday’s 4-1 loss at Watford made it back-to-back Premier League defeats for the English champions, and speculation surrounding the future of head coach Antonio Conte is gathering pace.

It would be fair to say that not many of the club’s first-team players have escaped criticism from the supporters in recent weeks.

One player that remains just as popular though is Spanish defender Cesar Azpilicueta.

The 28-year-old has developed into one of the best defenders in the Premier League during his time at Chelsea, and he has been a big part of their success in recent years.

Whilst Azpilicueta can do little wrong in the eyes of the Chelsea fans, the same cannot be said for club captain Gary Cahill, who is going through a really difficult spell.

Cahill was excellent last season, but the centre-back has struggled this term, and the Chelsea supporters have criticised the England international’s performances throughout the campaign.

Following Monday’s terrible defeat at Watford, the Chelsea fans have called on head coach Conte to strip Cahill of the armband and hand it to Azpilicueta.
