Monday 1 January 2018

Chelsea have received a huge boost in their pursuit of Belgian winger Yannick Ferriera Carrasco with Atletico Madrid ready to sell.

Chelsea made attempts to sign the winger last summer but saw their attempts knocked back with Atletico not willing to sell at the time.

However, the Express reports that Atletico are planning a major overhaul after their Champions league failure, and Goal.com believes that Diego Simeone has given the club a go ahead to sell Yannick Carrasco along with Nicolas Gaitan and Luciano Vietto.

It is now believed that Chelsea will try again in January with Antonio Conte still looking for new recruits, and still have him very much in mind.

He has a release clause of £86 million on his contract, and Atletico will want to milk Chelsea for as close to that as they can.

Yannick Carrasco hasn’t been at his best in an Atletico Madrid side that hasn’t been at its best. Though he’ll represent a younger, he won’t be a better option to Willian in my opinion, we can do well without him and look at other targets.
