With a statement published on their official website, Chelsea Ladies have announced the signing of promising midfielder Jessica Carter.
The 20-year-old, who joins the FA WSL champions from Birmingham City, has penned a three-year deal with the London club.

In her first words as a Chelsea player, Carter stated : ''Chelsea are the top team in the country and the potential is there to be one of the greatest teams.
''The players they have here all want to win, and it’s not just domestic trophies – they want to win the Champions League.
''I have the same ambitions as them. Hopefully they can push me, I can push them, and together we can achieve that. ''
A product of Warwick Juniors, Carter represented England at U19, U20, U23 level before making her senior debut against Kazakhstan.

The former PFA Women's Young Player of the Year will begin training with her new teammates when pre-season training begins on 7 July.
