Ahead of the game Antonio Conte met the press on Tuesday.

During the media event, Conte confirmed that David Luiz is set to be sidelined for a while longer.

The Brazilian has been out of action with a knee problem. Conte has now confirmed that Luiz will miss another three weeks.

Aside from the match with the Cherries, Luiz will also miss games against Everton, Brighton, Stoke, Arsenal, Norwich and possibly Leicester during the busy festive period.

David Luiz to leave Chelsea?

One the big stories in the press on Tuesday morning were claims that David Luiz could be about to leave Chelsea. Again.

If the rumours are to be believed, Conte no longer rates Luiz to be part of his defence.

Andreas Christensen has risen to the fore in the past few months. He now seems a lock at the heart of Chelsea’s three-man backline.

Yet, has the news of Luiz’s injury scuppered hopes of any January deal?

Arsenal, Newcastle or Barcelona?

It’s not taken long for several clubs to be linked with a possible move for David Luiz.

On the same day that Arsenal have been linked to Brazilian, rumours on Tyneside believe the Chelsea defender could move on loan to St James’ Park.

The Shields Gazette report that Rafa Benitez is chasing David Luiz. Newcastle would be looking to sign the defender on loan until the end of the season.

Benitez has previously worked with Luiz at Stamford Bridge.

Over in Spain, meanwhile, Barcelona are linked with Luiz too.

Barcelona are currently dealing with a series of issues in defence. Gerard Pique hasn’t been at his best this season. Samuel Umtiti is injured, while Javier Mascherano is about to leave the Camp Nou.

Cue links to Luiz.
